With her father passing her world seemed to be growing smaller.

His family was long gone by now, his mother and his father and his sister much too soon.

Her uncle died not long after and an uncle was called home years before.

She had decided to not have more children since being pregnant made her so sick.

And now here her family was trickling smaller and smaller.

Closing in so much quicker than she could’ve imagined.

Just when it seemed like it was increasingly shrinking and imploding

It suddenly burst open at the seams.

More people piled in, people I didn’t know were family before.

New cousins, new uncles, new aunts.

And most recently a half brother she had never known about before.

They there were in all their glory suddenly making her world explode with new possibilities for family and love.

Some might find these transitions shocking or hard but she instead decided to face into the sun and accept it all.

Let the new love shine on her face.

A welcome warmth after months and years of a winter setting in.
