Lost things

Do you ever think about the things we have lost?

Sunglasses, wallets, a button, a coat?

We look everywhere wondering where they could have gone.

I lost my diaper bag at the zoo a few days ago.

I ran around searching for it.

My double stroller, with both of my boys, going full speed.

I ran and ran. So fast. Even though My keys, my wallet they were in the stroller.

All the diaper bag had was diapers, some snacks. All things that I had more in the car.

But something about losing it made my heart thump.

Boy did it thump.

Fast in my chest, where is it I kept wondering.

Where?

My mother finally stopped me. “Christy, it’s okay. It’s just a bag.”

Suddenly a woman stopped me, is this yours?

There it was. Tears filled my eyes.

We got back to the car. I sat there staring out the window, thinking about the things I have lost.

My father. I cannot find him. I can not control that. But I could control finding my bag.

Tears rolled down my cheeks. I felt so full. I did it I thought. I found my lost thing.

There are the things we lose on accident and the people we lose no matter what we do.

Have you ever thought about your lost things? Where do they all go?

I lost my pogs when I was younger, maybe they’re with my father in the same place where all the things we lose go.
