They say the days are long but the years are short

and oh how I know this to be true.

I look at both of  you and I see me too

your father between the lines.

I loved you both the day I knew you were coming

I love you more now if that’s even possible.

I cradled my belly in my hands, your feet often greeting me.

I watched the ultrasounds as you spun around, you both still do that.

I protected you then, always and

I will keep protecting you my boys, be there for you, help light your way

Any burden that’s too heavy

let me carry it for awhile.

Any secret that feels too dark

let me know and I’ll show you the light

When your wings cant take flight

Let me carry you on my back, we can all fly.

I’ll love you more with every passing day.
